Failure is not your portion, and much like a song recorded by another artist… you don’t own the rights to it.

We claim failure like it’s ours to claim. Like we own the scales that determine our success. Like we set the standards like we make the plan and set the mark. 

It’s Storytime… 

I was preparing for my meeting this morning with my interim supervisor and I was going over some of the things I planned to mention to her about my staff and came up with what I deemed the perfect example to describe what I’m dealing with and it was a story of when I had a meeting with them both to review their positional goals.

 I probably got like halfway through the list when one of them literally threw her hands up, slid the paper across the table and said “we failed!” It was as I began to explain how I felt and reacted to her reaction when the Holy Spirit said “you do this too” 

The Holy Spirit said just like you’re their supervisor and you know the measure of their success because you hired and trained them…Only I can tell whether you’re successful or not -because I am the scale. You recognize that you don’t know my thoughts or my plans but NO ONE KNOWS my thoughts towards you and NO ONE KNOWS the plans I have for you and they won’t unless I tell them.

Nothing left to say except “You’re right… Please forgive me for sometimes forgetting that you’re not like people”.

You are ALWAYS right!, God!
